Ella joined Marks & Clerk in 2016 and is a qualified trade mark attorney, qualifying in August 2019 after passing her final exams with commendation.
Ella is involved in all aspects of registration, management and enforcement of UK, EU and international trade marks. She assists and advises a range of clients operating in a variety of sectors, including the fashion, electronics and publishing sectors, in relation to trade mark clearance searches, filing and prosecution of trade mark applications, trade mark oppositions and cancellations, as well as advising on trade mark infringement. Ella also has experience in dealing with company name complaints.
Ella was awarded a Commendation in the Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice from Nottingham Law School, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice from Queen Mary, University of London.
Prior to joining Marks & Clerk, Ella graduated in 2015 with a degree in Scots Law & French Language from the University of Glasgow which included a year spent abroad in France where she studied various aspects of French law. Ella subsequently undertook the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice also at the University of Glasgow during which she taught secondary school pupils about various aspects of the law and also assisted enterprise students on basic law for start-up businesses.
