Hitachi signals even faster upgrades!

The rail industry likes to seek out innovative ways of improving the safety of personnel on the line. Hitachi's new "Over and Back" testing solution is being implemented in Australia on the South East Queensland Cross River Rail project. It seeks to avoid the need for up to 10 people to be involved in the implementation of a particular signal upgrade - disconnecting the old signal control system and installing the new. It is with interest we note that railuk.com reports that this new system enables the switch to be made instantly via a central control unit. Sounds like a wonderfully simple procedure for an otherwise complicated and potentially dangerous one!

The roll out of novel solutions such as this will help to evolve the rail industry, getting it ready for the next generation of passengers.

Our rail and transport teams look forward to assisting you to protect your innovations in the rail sector, or the wider transport and infrastructure industries, be it in the world of electronics, electrification, hydrogen, biofuels, IOT, or mechanics, or elsewhere!
