Dominic handles cases relating to mechanical inventions. He has experience of patent drafting and prosecution particularly in the field of automotive technology, and has handled many cases relating to gas turbines, turbochargers, wireless automotive charging, tyres and other automotive technologies, in addition to subject matter as diverse as heat exchangers and travel accessories. Besides this, his work encompasses medical devices technology. Much of this work is before the European Patent Office, but he also handles cases before the UK Intellectual Property Office. He is experienced too in obtaining overseas patent protection, particularly in the United States.
As well as patent protection, Dominic has experience in obtaining registered design protection for his clients.
He works for a range of clients from individuals to SMEs and large corporations.
Dominic has also represented clients during opposition proceedings at the European Patent Office. Dominic joined Marks & Clerk in 2008. Previously he worked for Rolls-Royce Defence Aerospace in Bristol before working in the offshore oil & gas and renewables industry on structural analysis and design of oilrigs, offshore platforms and offshore wind turbines.
Dominic graduated from the University of Bristol with honours and a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
