David’s patent practice covers a broad variety of technical fields, with particular emphasis on chemistry and pharmaceuticals. David also handles subject matter in the fields of medical devices, polymers, nanotechnology, food technology, agriculture and petrochemicals.
David handles a variety of work, including the drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications, particularly in the UK and Europe. He also has experience in oppositions and appeals at the European Patent Office, and in litigation before the UK courts.
Before joining Marks & Clerk in 2015, David graduated with a first class Masters degree in Chemistry from Durham University. His research focused on the design and synthesis of activity-based probes for the discovery of drug targets in neglected tropical diseases.
