UK transport decarbonisation

The government has pledged £10 million in funding for a new research centre. Applications from 2nd February can be made by organisations wishing to host the new hub.

Innovations in transportation are needed to further decarbonise our transport network. Electric vehicles, hydrogen trains, trucks and buses, more efficient IC engines, materials with a lower environmental impact, better recycling of discontinued rolling stock and vehicle parts, are all helping to contribute towards the decarbonisation process, but there is so much more to do if we are to meet our 2050 net zero targets.
